Brief Introduction

Environmental Protection Foundation of Guangdong Province is publicly funded, which means it will receive the domestic and overseas donations in forms of cash, commodities and intelligence rights and allocate those donations to public facilities or services exclusively for protecting the environment province-wide. The foundation is directly supervised by the Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau. The foundation was registered in Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province and officially established on Feb 26th, 2003.

The Fund Use:

· Participate in and fund the construction and R&D of the environmental protection projects and environmental products or facilities that are especially useful and promising in Guangzhou Province.
· Fund the developments of the promising market potential technologies and projects used for environmental protection.
· Fund the public activities of propaganda and education to raise the awareness of environmental protection and the environmental protection effort in poor areas.
· Participate in international or regional activities for environmental protection cooperation and information exchange.
· Exclusively fund projects according to the wills of donors.
· Give awards to individuals or organizations that have made tremendous contribution to the protection of the environment and ecosystem.

Tenet and Target

The foundation is committed to protecting the natural environment and resources, facilitating the cohabitation of human and nature and achieving the sustainable development of the society and economic. Through facilitating the progresses of public environmental protection for Guangzhou Province, the foundation aims to widely contact domestic and foreign organizations, enterprises and individuals and attract the social elite in different areas to participate in environmental protection efforts. The foundation will try to raise funds through various channels and methods to provide financial and technological supports for environmental protection.
Fund-Raising
· The donations from domestic and foreign enterprises, organizations and individuals.
· The donations from international organizations and individuals.
· Legitimate Solicits donations in Guangdong Province.
· Fund-raising through the legitimate public activities or reciprocal cooperation utilizing the intangible asset.
· The increase of funds coming from the investments, interest and other legal incomes.

The Favorable Policies

The foundation: The foundation income resulting from the nation fund allocation, the donations and the bank interest is tax-free.
The donors: the individual donors to the foundation will receive up to 30% income tax deduction by the amount of donations. The enterprises donors will receive up to 3% enterprises income-tax deduction by the amount of donations. The foreign enterprises will receive up to 100% enterprises income-tax by the amount of donations.
The beneficiaries: The income-tax of individual and enterprises resulting from the donations will be waived.

Supervision:

The foundation will conform to the national laws and regulations, accepting the supervision and management of administrative and register agencies, the taxes and accounting agencies and the society and donors. The foundation will strictly allocate the funds according to the wills of donors who can access the information regarding the fund usage at any moment.
